Halong Bay was worth the trip to Vietnam. This is an amazingly beautiful location not to be missed. My husband and I took a 1 day trip in May 2010. We enjoyed very much with Phoenix Cruiser especially the kayaking! The people were very hospitable, the scenery fantastic and the food delicious. I would suggest this boat I was on to anyone saying they were planning a trip to Halong Bay.

The trip arranged by South Pacific Travel in Hanoi on the Deluxe Phoenix Cruiser was wonderful. Everything went smoothly with excellent transportation to and from Hanoi. The Cruiser was modern with clean rooms and private bathrooms with nice hot water. Despite the heat, the air conditioner in our room worked perfectly. Food on board was also excellent (seafood). After our afternoon outing (visiting a cave, kayaking) we were treated to wine and fresh fruit prior to having a wonderful sea food dinner. The small size of the group (ca. 12 people) was also a plus, especially as some of us participated in Karaoke after dinner without being embarrassed.

Very much enjoyed an overnight cruise on a quasi-junk, fine meals, good rooms, guides in English, swimming and kayaking.
Highly recommend among the many boat tour choices Halong Phoenix Cruiser, phone their 24/7 rep Mr. Alan who arranged it for us and speaks perfect English [cell (+84) 983 358525] They're not the cheapest in town but it's not worth risking an unpleasant experience. This company is well run, has numerous boats with excellent crew – with drinks and tips about VND 3,400,000 for 24 hours and four meals. Our cruise was fabulous, the crew were terrific, the boat was in immaculate condition, the food fantastic, the deck chairs on the top deck were a nice addition.

We are still in Vietnam but unfortunately the weather is bad. The only few days that have had good weather was our boat-tour to Halong Bay. We enjoyed this tour very much because of the high standard of your boat the excellent cooking and the friendly hospitality of your staff. I will not likely visit Vietnam again soon but that's only because I would like to see some place different, since my travel budget isn't so big but I will definitely tell all my friends about South Pacific Travel and the professionalism you all practice.
